Night & Day: 1930s Fashion and Photographs
This year the American Museum & Gardens is delighted to announce the arrival of its most glamorous exhibition yet, Night & Day: 1930s Fashion and Photographs, organised by the Fashion and Textiles Museum, London.
Presented thematically, the exhibition will take visitors on a journey through sumptuous city tableaus featuring a range of glamorous eveningwear. Nightclub, cinema and bustling street scenes are filled with floor-length gowns, created in satins, velvets and crepes and adorned with diamante.
From couture to classic, there is something for every fashionista. Not only will there be dresses and outfits galore, but also fabulous 1930s photography, which encapsulates the era. The visitor will be taken on a journey through the decade, passing art deco architecture, visiting wild parties and basking in the Golden Age of Hollywood.
With the ongoing guidance from the UK government about re-opening museums and galleries entry to the exhibition will be via timed ticket only. On arrival at the Ticket Office you’ll be issued with a timed ticket (this may not correspond with your arrival time) which you’ll need to show at entry to the Exhibition Gallery.
We are unable to take pre-bookings or reserve tickets for the exhibition.
To keep you safe, and to comply with the latest Covid-19 guidance, we have removed the interactive interpretation within the gallery for the exhibition.
