Museum Buildings

All buildings are fully accessible via ramps and a lift is fitted within the main Museum building。

Some internal doorways within Claverton Manor are narrow (70cm) and there are tight turns at some points in the visitor route. In order to ensure the safety of our visitors and collections, mobility scooters and very large electric wheelchairs are not allowed within the Manor. Please contact us before visiting if you’d like advice about whether we can accommodate your electric wheelchair. Manual wheelchairs are available to borrow at Reception.

We accommodate single-width pushchairs throughout the Museum。 Unfortunately double buggies are too wide for the narrow doorways in the Museum, so we will ask you to leave these at Reception。 Baby pouches and ‘hippy-chicks’ are available to borrow。 Baby-changing facilities are situated in the Exhibition Gallery, and breast-feeding is welcome throughout。

秒速快3Visitors with large back-packs will be asked to leave them at Reception.

秒速快3Our room guides are all trained to assist visitors with accessing our collections, so please let them know if extra help is needed.

American Museum & Gardens Accessibility Guide

New American Gardens

秒速快3This year we’ve teamed up with and are pleased to provide a Tramper, to make our gardens and outdoor spaces even more accessible。

As we only have one Tramper, you must book this in advance by calling 01225 460503 or emailing during normal opening hours (10am -4pm Tuesday to Sunday).
You might be able to use the Tramper without pre-booking but we cannot guarantee this.
We don’t charge for hiring the Tramper but you do have to sign up to the Countryside Mobility membership, £2.50 for 2 weeks or £10 for a year. You can then use your membership at all other Countryside Mobility Tramper destinations.

We recommend that you read the medical and health information and terms and conditions of use before getting arriving as this will help you to assess whether you’ll be able to use the Tramper, and will save you time when registering for membership.
